Before AHDA Membership, each dancer must sign up for lessons with a dance teacher.
Membership $45/Dancer or $60/Family
The AHDA shall advertise and collect registrations for dancer memberships. Annual membership is from October 1st to September 31st for individual dancers or dancing families. Membership prices are subject to change at the discretion of the Executive.
To be eligible for membership benefits, AHDA dancers must be in good standing with the Association. To maintain good standing, the dancer member shall complete the following:
- Must sell minimum number of ticket books (as determined by Executive) for AHDA annual major ticket fundraiser
- All parents/guardians of AHDA dancers must volunteer at competitions organized and hosted by the Association
AHDA dancer members shall fall under one of the following criteria:
- Reside in the geographic area of Antigonish Town or County and attend regular dance lessons (in-person or video) with an AHDA registered dance teacher. Note: Post-secondary students residing in Antigonish Town or County during the school year who are taking classes from an AHDA teacher are eligible to register as an AHDA dancer.
- Reside outside the geographic area of Antigonish Town or County and attend regular dance lessons (in-person or video) with an AHDA registered dance teacher/dance school.
- Reside in the geographic area of Antigonish Town or County and attend regular dance lessons (in-person or video) with a non-AHDA dance teacher/dance school.
Membership Benefits

- Opportunity to dance at all AHDA non-competition performances, Antigonish Highland Society and community events throughout the year
- Opportunity to take part in all AHDA social events
- Opportunity to purchase AHDA merchandise
- Dance competition results/photos shall be posted on AHDA social media outlets
- Eligible to apply for an AHDA bursary in their last year of secondary education (subject to bursary criteria)
- 2025 Only – Eligible to compete for the Bill Cousins Memorial Award, presented at the annual AHDA Fall Competition to a pre-premier member of AHDA. Must be registered before November 6th to ensure eligibility.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE November 6th
A late fee of an additional $15 will be applied to each dancer after the deadline.
