Nova Scotia Closed Championship and Provincial Selection meet were held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Sydney, NS.
Antigonish dancers were very successful at the Nova Scotia Closed Championship and Provincial Selection meet held on Saturday, April 29th in Sydney. Out of seven age categories, Antigonish Highland Dancing Association dancers came home with an impressive five provincial champions, with a total of 10 dancers earning recognition as provincial representatives. These ten dancers will move on to the ScotDance Canadian Championship being held June 29th to July 3rd in Charlottetown to represent Nova Scotia.

Rachel Reid – 1st Runner-Up, 7 and Under 10 years
Jaelyn Rovers – 1st Runner-Up, 10 and Under 12 years
Megan Smith – Champion, 12 and Under 14 years
Erin Gilfoy – Champion, 14 and Under 16 years
Emma Smith – 1st Runner-Up, 14 and Under 16 years
Hannah Delorey – 2nd Runner-Up, 14 and Under 16 years
Carly MacDonald – Champion, 16 and Under 18 years
Abigail MacDonald – 1st Runner-Up, 16 and Under 18 years
Courtney MacDonald – Champion, 18 and Under 21 years
Congrats also to Antigonish dancers Ainslee Pictou who was 4th Runner-Up and Emma Baird who was 5th Runner-Up in the 7 and under 10 age group.
